Default Need Freedom Top Info for removed top

This weekend I plan on taking the hardtop off my Rubicon. With the top removed, can I use the removeable front hard top panels to keep the sun off of me? Are there any special parts needed to use the panels without the back of the hardtop installed?

Thanks.

Flip the little black brackets down on the underside of the panels where they meet the sound bar. If you don't, you will probably crack the panels when you screw them down.

Edit: I think the owner's manual explains what I'm talking about.

Yes a few washers to keep from over screwing those screw things right through your hard top

Pretty sure there is no need to use washers...flip the brackets, that's what they are there for.

I can pull a panel and take a pic tomorrow if no one beats me to it. Take a look at your manual if you have it, because I'm pretty sure it's in there.

Just get a DirtyDog sunshade..... Put mine on today.... It's amazing blocks the heat and damaging UV rays and still feels open... And covers the whole front seat area unlike other brands leaving space down the sides... Can take pics tomorrow if you want them

I was just looking at The DD sunshade. Looks like a sweet product.

The manual went with the warranty.
Thanks for the pic when you can.

This is the page from the manual showing the "spacer block" that needs to be flipped down to install the freedom top without the rear section.
