Jeep wouldn't turn over when leaving work twice last week... Jumped, no issues

Started jeep up leaving work last night, it struggled for a quarter second, but turned over... While driving home, the jeep was possessed... I would press the accelerator and it would begin to rev until ab 1500 to 1800 rpms and quit. Now mind you, I could still accelerate but it was suuuuper slow and you could barely tell the engine was trying... Drove directly to an auto store by my house...

Took the jeep to advanced auto parts, test battery twice, both times said it was good... Tested the electrical system and it passed every test.

Today, I'm in the parking lot at work and the battery is dead again.

What's going on!?

The battery is the original mopar (07 built in 06); wouldn't surprise me if it's time had come, but wouldn't that show up on the test?

After turning off the car and starting again the engine revd up as it should...

Alternator and belts appear fine, jeep runs so I'm assuming that indicates alternator is good...

Any ideas? Any additional details needed?

Cheers

Change battery. Many stock JK batteries last around 2 years. Mine lasted much less.

If you have an automatic, try putting it in Neutral and then starting if it happens again. There is a thread somewhere non these forums about JK auto starter issues. I think it was determined to be the shifter sensor not recognizing the car as being in park.

Thanks for the replies! I had AAA come out to jump me at work last night and they tested the battery, said the battery was shot... Guess it's time to put the old battery to pasture... 5ish years out of the mopar battery ... not bad!

Anyone have a clue ab the odd reaction of the jeep in terms of the rev limit, etc?

Cheers
