Need help with battery?
i just took my top off, and needed it back on and ever since I put the top back on my battery goes bad. maybe it s coincidence but i still need to know why it keeps going dead. could it also just be a bad battery? Please let me know. im not sure.
I hate to say it, but, the dealer scan tool can see a battery drain, and tell you what component is the perp.
I should qualify that with a "I think". Looking in the factory service manual, the scan tool is all about the CANBus system, which monitors just about everything.
It could be real simple, like Redneckjeep says.

thanks both of you, i dont have a rear dome. that was the first thing i checked though on my dome light. its not on. its weird. it just all the sudden happened. drives me nuts.
Mine dies all the %$^C%$ time! I'm about to put a kill switch on the Pos cable to keep it from draining. Nothing left on. Just dead. I'm on my third battery, upgraded to Gel Cell to see if it would fix the problem but no. Guess i better go to the dealer and take it like a man.
you can have the battery load tested, check the system for a draw, have the alternator tested. if you have a amp meter disconnect the neg cable at the batt and hook one of the amp meter leads to the cable and other to batt terminal. some cars the body module will stay on for a few sec. or min. but it should read zero after all the modules turn off. or it could be a module not turning off.
