Default Need help with my broken Tcase linkage

I went wheeling today and after climbing some obstacles in 4Lo went back to 4Hi and then to 2Hi everything went smoothly, when I had to climb over a new obstacle I engaged 4Hi and at this moment it felt like something went loose and the shifter wont engage in anything anymore. Now it's stuck in 4Hi. No sign of anything broken underneath the Jeep. I searched the forum and it seems like it is common for the plastic bushing on both end of the Tcase linkage to fail.
The problem is, I wont be able to take it to a mechanic until monday and I need the jeep during the weekend, so is there anyway i could fix this myself with minimum tools and very average mechnical skills?
Thanks in advance for your inputs.

Sounds like the T case shifter pin may have broke.
Its only plastic and, from what Iv been told, can be ziptied back in place.
Hope this helps.

I looked under the T case skid plate and the the shifter pin looks fine. so it is the upper part of the linkage that went loose, right? To reach it do I need to remove the console and how to do this without breaking any piece?
Could it be by any chance somthing else that been damaged considering my first description? your help is much appreciated, this thing is driving me nuts

sounds like the connector popped off at the shifter. its not hard to pull the console, just a pain. There are some threads about the removal
