Hey all,
After seeing the new concept JK (the orange one floating round with the AEV hood) and the black door hinges, I thought I'd ask:
Does anyone think that putting line-x or another type of protectant on the door hinges to eliminate rock chipping/reduce rust likelihood? I am getting sick of having clear plastic (3M vinyl) on my hinges, and some large chips are still getting through.
Your thoughts? I'm not a body-man, but can it be done? I assume if people are lining their tubs, this can be done?
Cheers

Looking at the hinge I'd bet that it could be unbolted and line x'd. It looks like there's enough room for the extra width to clear the door as long as you didn't do the space between the top and bottom hinge, and the bottom of the bottom hinge.

I had thought about doing this mainly for the look as I have a 2 door, but looking closer it looks like they painted AFTER putting the hinges on.
My concern is the thickness of the coating. Do you think it would interfere with the fitment of the doors when they are on? I want to coat mine as well, was thinking about black chrome, really like the Quadratec gunmetal finish, just don't like paint.
