Need Soft Top Advice
I have a 2012 Wrangler 2 door with factory hard top but no soft top. I am considering purchasing a soft top. I am aware that new factory soft tops as well as aftermarket soft tops are available. I'm also considering a previously owned soft top that came as part of a dual top group but has never been used. My questions are:
1. Will a 2007 factory soft top fit my 2012?
2. Will the 2007 factory soft top frame, door surrounds, etc. fit my 2012?
3. Did the 2007 factory soft tops have the Sunrider feature?
4. Are there any differences between 2007 and 2012 factory soft tops?
5. If the 2007 top will fit my 2012 what is a reasonable price to pay considering that the 2007 top is almost 6 years old but never installed?
Thank you very much for any advice you can give. I really appreciate it.

As long as you have the entire hardware the 07 will fit the. 12
IIRC the 11 and 12's had a different stronger windshield header bar to stop the leak issues ??? But the 11 and 12's have larger rear windows.
You should have no problem finding new factory soft tops for sale. I have a 12 JKU that came with a factory hard top. I loved my soft top on my prior TJ and 11 JK before my JKU. I really like the hard top but for summer fun the soft top is awesome.
I found a brand new never opened soft top from a 12 on Craigslist for $500

Some notes on this:
Sail Panels are the wide cloth strips that separate the side windows from the back window. Some have a plastic insert that stiffens the panel.
Metal Header Bar has been reported to "leak less", but I have no direct experience with that.
The Cable drip rails make it SIGNIFICANTLY easier to flip up the sunrider and/or lower the top.
Each of the four rows in the above grid have distinct, different door surrounds.
As for value, I personally wouldn't pay more than $150 for an unused 2007 dual-top take-off soft top. It would have the least amount of features, and the only reason I would go over $100 is because it had never been used. You can find used 2007 tops in various conditions for as little as $50. Shoot, I have one in my garage that I would almost give away.
Good luck!
