Default New 2011 jk unlimited is it just me or do i have Mrs. Daisy's vehicle

I am a new owner of a mango tango 2011 jk unlimited and im alittle disappointed in the performance of the engine. Granite im coming from a 2004 mustang cobra and decided to get this jeep because im going to be a new dad in 2 months and the convience of 4 doors i really like. What do i need to do to get alittle more pep in the gas pedal. Its an auto and i dont really care about the gas milage too much because im doing alot better than my mustang.

I was thinking along the lines of a new intake. If anyone has any personal experience it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks Lou

jeep ant a race car, it is a bit sluggish on the accelerator i have come to accustomed to that. if you want more acceleration maybe a supercharger?

You can't do much with this engine. You won't notice much after spending money on intakes, exhausts, etc. The overall consensus is that the superchips ($300) is your best bang for your buck, but it won't do anything impressive. A blower would make a big difference of course. It's a minivan engine.

I have the very same JK as you do it appears. I love mine, but have had other JK's in the past, so the power issue is not an issue with me. I have discussed this with so many JK mechanics and other than a supercharger, you are not going to put enough aftermarket items on that engine to see much in the way of power performance.
You have to remember that this was not made to race, but to take off road and have a great time. Don't get me wrong, I could go for a different engine as well, but we have what we have. By the way, my last JK was a 2009 "X" with a 6 speed, and it was no faster than the auto in my 2011 Rubi Unlimited.

Sorry Lou, I used to have Terminator too and I feel your pain....but....it's a jeep, learn to love it (and buy a GSXR for when you want to go fast!).

A regear to 5.13s or 5.38s is your ticket to better performance.
