Default New hitch, need to lower exhaust for install

I just bought a Hidden Hitch Class III 2" Receiver Hitch

http://www.quadratec.com/products/12015_03_07.htm

Recieved it today, and reading the instructions i need to lower the exhaust, because there is simply just no room to work in there. My main question is how do i lower the exhaust? I looked at the exhaust system, there are two rubber bushings/gaskets (whatever they are called) with pegs through them. Are those pieces part of lowering it? How hard is it to take them out/put them back in? And is this even the way to lower the exhaust?

Thanks,
Reggie

You should be able to do it without moving the exhaust. I got mine on any way. It is a really tight fit with the bolts but it does work.

I found the easiest way to get the washers and nuts onto the bolt was with a pair of old kitchen scissors.. they're small enough to fit in between the frame and bumper, and strong enough to get the nut started! Good luck! I can take pics if you have no idea what i'm talking about!

Yup, no need to lower the exhaust. You can get it in there without lowering. It's a bit of a PITA, but far easier than wrestling with the exhaust mounts to lower it.

I am also having another problem with a piece of metal/weld(above the first hole on the left) that is 100% in my way, I'm gonna have to shave that down in order to be able to line up the holes.

Did anyone have a problem with the holes in the frame being to small for the bolts? i tried getting all 4 bolts in w/o the hitch and one was having HUUUGE problems getting through.

I had no problems at all. Literally a 5 minute install. No exhaust or bumper removal necessary for me.

x2 I didn't remove anything when I installed my hitch. Even had room to use a 1/2" torque wrench with large socket.
