New Jeep JK Basic Maitenence Items
Just picked up a new Jeep 2017 JKU (3.6, 6 Spd Manual, 91K miles). Looking to go over all the basic maitenance things with it before I start hitting serious trails, however the owners manual was not in the vehicle. Looking for a complete list of fluid types and capacities, intervals would be nice too, as well as anything else besides regular maitenance items I should take a look at
Do a google search for your owner's manual and you'll find all sorts of free downloadable ones. I'd start by changing all major fluids. Many people ignore the gear oil in the diffs and ATF in the transfer case.
Definitely do all the drivetrain fluids; tranny, transfer case, diffs. But do a YouTube search on the tranny; you'll have to fabricate a hex head that's short enough to fit in the plug and allow you to wrench it (a genuine pain in the ass). Don't want to insult your intelligence if you already know this, but always make sure you can loosen the fill plugs before you drain the oil for each component. Buy some lube locker gaskets for the diffs and you won't have to deal with gasket goop for the life of the JK.
Since you're at 91K, spark plugs are in your future (supposed to be a 100K interval). Also a PITA job that takes a few hours. When I changed mine, mpg improved some.
I also need to replace power steering and brake fluids, and that's on the list (but I don't think that will keep you off the trails this summer).

Here's a link to a YouTube that shows the Allen wrench you'll have to fabricate (about 1:30 min into the video):
Since it's a 17 mm, not so sure trying to bend one with heat is going to work...
