Default New JK, May 2010 Tranny problems?

Hey i just purchased my JK and its supposed to come in the middle of may.
I was reading about all these tranny problems, and was wondering if mine will have the same issues or jeep has fixed it by the may 2010 models.
i am aware that i ordered one of the last 2010 models in production as well.

Cheers JK n00b.

chance are good you will get the same problems as the rest of us. the only major trany change is scheduled for 2011 with the new engine.

There is 2 thing you need to know

1. the trany it self is not really problematic, it the gearing ratio the problem.
2. when you read forum or work as a mechanic or tech there is a tendency to only see problems, this is the same thing here peoples post there problem and rarely for saying that everything is working fine.

There isn't going to be a new motor for 2011 models. But on subject, the new revision to the TSB on the transmissions should fix the problem. So, if you do experience Jumping out of gear, all you'll have to do is take it by the dealer to get it fixed. Whereas, people previously have had to be the guniea pigs going back and forth from the dealer while they tried to trouble shoot the problem.

Default +1 to the comment on what you read in forums

People write when they are upset or disappointed. They do not write when everything is OK. 12 people write rants about their experience with failing (fill in the blank) does not mean there is an issue for the other 242,000 who experienced no such problem and did not write.

My transmission is just fine, thank you.

AMEN! and x2 on the no tranny problems.

The only tranny problems I've had was when I was driving through the bad part of town!

Unfortunately, My 2010 JK Rubicon has issues, with the transmission being only one of them. I will be dragging it to the dealer when I am back at home, where they can argue with me for a while, and pretend to fix it. So far, the traction control had issues, it jumps out of first and sixth, it sounds incredibly rough at times, and the radio does not always turn off. It has 5400 miles so far, with only 24 of them being off highway.

I never had tranny problems except that I never use the overdrive. Can't keep up with Arizona Speed Limits (75).

HOWEVER THERE IS A NEW ENGINE. Motor Trend reports that there will be a 4 cyl turbo diesel for 2011, based on a torquey Fiat design.

That sounds horribly retarded.
