New jk won't run
As my wife and I were coming back out of the woods we had to go back through a water hole with a sand bar on the side of it, if you just slightly went of the edge you would go down approx 3 feet, well we went off at least the drivers side did and it sat there for about an hour ideling and at one point it stalled and it took it a couple of tries to get it going again. Well I finally found someone to pull us out and as I was giving it gas to get out it started to miss-spit-sputer then it quit this time it would not start for nothing, so the guy pulled us the rest of the way out to the main road and at that point I got it running again and he went and bought us some water remover because we thought water had gotten in the gas through the gas cap since it was under water, so do you think that's what has happend? No water got into the air box, the engine was not in the water. Well we made it home barely and today I put more water remover in and it still hardly runs. I also looked at the evap canister and it had water in it so I took it out to remove what I could and this did nothing, also the check engine light is on. So what do you think, I need some quick help.

Try an old Auzzie trick, pour half a litre (1 pint) of metholated spirits into the tank.
the Metho is miscible with water as in it will react with the water to make a burnable substance
half a litre will treat a whole tank

Also check the fuel filter. I got water in the gas on a previous vehicle & the water in the fuel filter seemed to be starving the engine. Dumped the filter out & reinstalled same one. engine ran again. This was a carberated engine with mechanical fuel pump, not sure if the modern fuel delivery is more or less finicky. It's free to try though.

You can get a pump and hose at Home Depot and put it on a drill.
You will need 5 @ 5 gallon gas cans and a fresh 5 gallon can of gas.
Put the hose (get the correct diameter) in the tank and run the pump.
2 things.
Don't touch the Jeep while running the pump, it's an electic pump while using the drill no one want a fire.
The fuel has to be disposed of and will require so many permits to get rid of you will wish you went to the dealer.

mine is doing the same thing right now, i ripped the evap can off though and think it sucked water up into the tank. i will be pulling the tank this weekend to see if there is anything else other than water in there! i ve put 4 bottles of dry gas in and it helped when the tank was full but now that i am down to half it is doign it again. won t open up more than 2500 to 3000 rpms and it just starts to carry on and miss, buck, jerk, you name it it does it!
there is no external fuel filters on the jeep. it is something the chrysler started doing in the late 90's. if they do have a fuel filter it is on the fuel pump itself. try to drain it yourself first. i am afriad to take mine to the dealer because of what i did. if you look by the tranny under the passneger door there is 2 lines there between the tranny and the frame rail. the one that has the stainless steel braid up further is the fuel line. if you push the blue tabs in the fuel line will pull off. becareful because this is under pressure! you can cycle the key and it will pump fuel, it took me about 15 minutes to 1 gal of gas.
