New (to me) Rubi is dead
Picked up my new Red Rock 07 unlimited Rubi last Wednesday night and drove four hours back home with no problems - loved it! Next day returning from lunch, with a jeep full of coworkers, just about every warning light(sway bar, oil, airbag, ESP,BAS, MIL, sentry, etc.) comes on and the warning bells start ringing. After pulling over, it will not start back up. I try disconnecting the battery for a minute to reset things, but no luck. We call for a ride for the coworkers and I get a tow - so much for showing off the new jeep.
After arriving at the dealer, it starts, but the warning lights are still on and the bells are still ringing -tach is going nuts too. Error codes are showing for just about everything as well - "Lost communication" I think they said. Next day dealer calls and says its a loose battery connection and its now doing fine. I'm skeptical, but go to pick it up. The warning lights and bells come back on as I'm leaving the parking lot. Back to service and my planned weekend jeep adventures in the Smokies and around tellico are off.
Monday they call and tell me it's no longer got any lights on, but that they think it needs a new TIPM module. Two days latter the TIPM arrives. They install it, drive it ten miles to be sure its OK and all looks fine. I go pick it up and the bells and lights come on before I get out of the lot again. Ack!! Once back in the service lane, it refuses to start.
Any ideas? What would cause so many systems to loose communication and throw codes at once. I thought the TIPM seemed like it was on the right track, but I guess not. I did try disconnecting the battery for a minute when it first happenned, but it did not change anything.
I'm frustrated and disappointed - In the week since I bought it its been in the shop all but 14 hours and I have no idea when I will get it back. Have not even been able to take the top and doors off yet. The joy of my new Rubi is gone and I fear I will never be able to trust this vehicle. Just glad I was not in the middle of nowhere out of cell range five hours from home when it died.

sounds like the dealer monkeys don't know what they are doing. sorry for your troubles im sure you will get it worked out somehow, ive found after owning a jeep trouble is sure to follow its like that now a days with about every new vehicle im going to try and do all mechanical work myself learning each part as i repair or replace study up on everything im tired of taking things to dealers for repair a problem arises just work it till you get it right. when it comes to automotive i think less gadgets and electronics the better. my father in law has a buick has electric window problems every time he turns around it costs him 300-600 bucks to fix a window
some have had alot of issues with ignition switches too. If your switch is sending say 7 volts to your TIPM instead of 12-14, all hell breaks loose. Could even be something simple as loose ground connection at the battery or the main ground for the TIPM. With the electrical experience I have, more times than not, a wierd intermittent electical issue is due to a poor ground or a pinched or chafed wire. Before you can isolate any module as the issue, you need to check power feeds to the module, the ground for the module, and communication(class 2, high speed LAN, Low speed LAN). Not that this is anything you personally have to check, but I don't trust anyone else to work on my Rubi, but myself

Thanks for all the suggestions and support. I talked to the service advisor today. They say they checked all the grounds and connections, then started taking it apart module by module following a flowchart. They say the flowchart indicates the PCM is the problem and have ordered a new one. Of course it will not be in till next week.
I'm not getting my hopes up that this will really fix the problem and I will actaully be able to drive my new jeep.

Sorry, I couldn't help myself.
