Default Newbie questions

I'm going to be getting a 2 door JK soon. Never having owned a Jeep product before let alone a Wrangler, I have a few questions.

I'm not planning on doing any rock climbing or major off road, so the X or Sahara should do just fine. We're likely to go into National forest areas on some dirt roads.

1. Do the rear seats come out easily?

2. The doors can be removed, is that correct?

3. There are a ew '07's left. Would it be wise to get an '07 or wait for an '08?

4. Vinyl seats. Any advantage besides being easy clean? Disadvantages? Do you prefer the cloth?

5. Don't know the difference between a Dana and donut (besides that one is edible). Considering my prefences, is the dana gears necessary?

Anything else I should know?

I appreciate any and all suggestions. Thanks.

1. Not as easy as older models, but yeah, they're still relatively easy to pull out.

2. Yup

3. Biggest advantage of an '07 atm is that the X and Saharas can still be had with 4.10 gears. If you don't plan on going with a moderately larger sized tire, this'll matter little to you. Advantage of the '08 is that it'll have some minor finishing touches over the old model year and you can also order one to your specs rather than settling for what's on the lot (sans the 4.10's of course). Really is 6 in one hand and half a dozen in the other.

4. I've got cloth, roof is off as much as possible so it's less painful to sit in them after they've baked in the sun a bit .

5. If you plan on any significant amount of modifications/offroading, the rear Dana 44 is the way to go. Significantly stronger than the D35 and it'll help out a bit in the resale if you're selling it to someone who knows what they're looking for. Front's gonna be a D30 on the X and Sahara, no options there. Disregard all the above if you're going with a Rubicon, standard 44's on both ends.
