Default Newbie - top lowering question

Newbie here, question on lowering 4 door unlimited top. Should the bars be tucked into the sides or be aligned with the roll bar. I don't see how they would stay up if aligned with the roll bars. Do these pics look right?

I've seen it done both ways, it's personal preference. There are two little black Velcro strips
that can be used to anchor it to the bars or through the first bolt hole on the side where the hardtop mounts.

It looks like you need to fold it neater though, looks like a mess. Try folding it like this in the second picture:

Then fold it down to the tailgate and continue to fold the flaps into smaller neater sections. It helps to have the rear window completely removed too.

The last pic tripetsi posted is the correct way to fold down your soft top. The way you have it folded is common when first doing it but your pinching the fabric in a way that with time it can tear the canvas. When you have it laid down like you have it just open your tailgate and lift your soft top header bar "gently" and slowly pull the fabric until it pulls out against the header bar. Just copy the folds from the last pic from above. As for the bows mine don't lay flat with the body, then angle slightly up in a 25-30 degree angle. Not to mention I have a soft top boot that not only protects the top when down but it gives it a cleaner look and it makes taking the top completely off easier. Good luck Augi

Agreed. Tripletsi has the correct way. Start the first fold right at the header and continue to make a "W" pattern. There's a good video on jeep.com and YouTube you can search for.

Yep. They do stick out when you fold the soft top.

That's my Jeep and pics. I'm glad they're helping other Jeepers out.
