Bought a set of rock rails that mount using the body bolts just behind the front tires and the bolts just in front of the rear tires. One of the rear mounts stripped out the nut that is evidentaly welded into the body. Anyone know how to access this to replace it? I have not torn into it yet and don't know if it is replaceable from under the carpet or under the vehicle.

 

I'm trying to figure out where exactly the back side is, up in the interior of the vehicle or somewhere underneath. Won't have time to tear into it for a couple days.

 

Boy, if it is underneath it will be a heck of a job to get to it. I was so wishing it were inside.

Anybody have the body off a JK before?

 

On pickups once that nut is stripped it's some serious cutting and welding to get it back to right. I assume it's the same on the jk's. I'd try tapping it once size larger and using a new bolt.
