My 2013 JKS has less than 5000km and just today I noticed it making a strange noise at idle. The noise disappears immediately when I clutch in and does not return whilst the vehicle is in gear. Is this normal?

 

What does ur noise sound like?

My jk (2013 automatic) makes a weird very quiet chirping like noise in neutral kind of sounds like "morris code". I suspect its a belt or somthing though.

It sounds almost like a fluid sloshing, it's not particularly loud I just thought I'd make sure. It makes the noise both when the engine is cold and when it's warmed up. And I'm fairly certain the sound coming from the manual transmission/clutch as it goes away when I engage the clutch and when I go into gear.

 

I had a very similar sound except it sounded more like a rattle. When I took it to the dealer it wasn't doing it anymore and now its back. I'll wait and try again soon

 

If it's chirping it could be the water pump going bad. Just had mine replaced yesterday on my 2013.

 

I just got that noise I have a 2014 jku with 1300 miles on it wtf

 

Throwout bearing, both of my 13s did it.
