Default Odd transmission case alignment and oil leaking

I have a 2011 JKU automatic. I just had transmission lines replaced due to rusting. A week later I see some oil spots on my garage floor. Looked under and find this weird alignment. The two parts don't match up. Is this normal?

And also, it looks like oil is leaking all over that casing. Where could this be from?

What appears to be a misalignment in your photo is a normal condition.

The oil on the structure could be coming from almost anywhere. Clean off all the residue, going as high up on the engine as you can, and see if you can determine where the leak starts as it continues to seep.

Interesting. Looks very strange misaligned like that.

Thanks, I'll do that tomorrow and see if I can find where it is leaking from

looks like the leak coming originally from higher up. if its a 3.8l engine its probably the valley pan under the intake thats leaking. could also be a rear main seal

Just did some digging. It might be the upper oil pan gasket

Could also be a rear main seal leak too.

I edited this. After looking at the picture again, I'd like to change that. It looks like it is coming from up above, possibly oil pan or if its red transmission fluid the connections of the tranny lines may not be on tight and its leaking. Those metal clips in the plastic circles can be a nightmare.

Do y'all think this leak on a 2017 JKU would be from a similar place as discussed above? I need to look up higher too, but just wanted to get this out there for opinion, i.e. rear main seal (at 74k miles?) etc. Thanks and sorry to crash post trying to keep things organized in lieu of starting new threads
