Default OEM Flare Replacement

I am replacing my rear driver side oem flare with another one from mopar. I am not replacing the inner splash shield, just the top portion (to get rid of a long scratch that's been bothering me). Will this be very hard to do? I've been looking here and on-line and have not really found much. Can someonw weigh in? Much appreciated. Thanks and God Bless.

I haven't done it, but I have been thinking about replacing all of my fenders, they show removing the fronts in the write up, I can't imagine the rears would be much different. I don't think it will be that hard to swap out.

Hope this helps

thanks guys. I realized I didn't order any hardware, because they told me I can use existing. I would imagine those things are gonna break, rendering them useless...

Get on eBay and you can buy the hardware cheap. Just type in Wrangler fender clips in the search

^^This! Those little push pins break so easily so it's always good to have some spares.

Just did a front flare a couple months ago. It's really not hard, but you'll need to at least get rivets. Some people replace the clips that hold the flare onto the body but none of mine broke. Some claim to have re-used rivets but I can't see how. Besides, they're cheap.

If you get a hand rivet gun make sure you really muscle it, or the push-pins in the center of the rivet will be sticking out from your flare.

One tip from doing the fronts is to lift up (skywards), not out (toward you) when removing the old flare. That's how you break clips. I'd guess the rears are the same since it's the same clip.

Clip part number is: A20887
Rivet part number is: A13751

I ordered the rivets last night. I guess they should be in tomorrow, since Quadtratec is in PA. The flare actually came with the clips that attach her to the body. The clips are already installed on the flare. My question is, and forgive my ignorance, do I have to pull out the whole thing, liner and all, and then reattach the liner to the flair before remounting? Can I just leave the liner attached to the jeep and remove the top piece, which is what I'm replacing? Thanks. As you can tell, I'm not very handy...

I just removed all 4 of mine had them painted and replaced. I ordered all new fasteners online in bulk and tried many different ways of reinstalling. What seemed to work best (after breaking many of the new clips) was to install it already riveted together as one unit. Once I figured that out other side was a breeze. I couldn't find a plastic rivet gun locally so drilled out one i had. This worked but wouldn't pull rivet tight enough. I used a small wrench to hold rivet while pulling with pliers to start and then finish with rivet gun for nice tight flush break. This picture was helpful showing all the fasteners and fastening points.

Ok, so I got the new flare attached to the body of the jeep...wasn't that bad. Now I need to get the right rivet gun to bolt the inner flare and outer flare together...I will be checking the local hardware stores...
