Default Oem power console inverter

Ok so if I purchase the inverter unit that fits in the console will I have the plug in already in my jeep or is there something else I would need to do to get this option in my jeep since it didn’t come with it?

I've gone around on this topic myself as I don't have the factory plug either. If you really look at that inverter and what it could handle, it isn't much. I decided it just wasn't worth the hassle for the few times I'd need it. I bought a $13 inverter off Amazon that sits in my cup holder when I need it, and it handle's the same duty. If the factory inverter could handle more power, it might be worthwhile, but it is very light duty.

To answer your question more directly, i'm 98% sure you will not have the plug/harness waiting there for you to plug in to. You'd have to tap the 12v. In fact, make that 99.99% sure. I had my console out to raptor line over the winter....there was no extra plug dangling around.

Yeah, the other issue to consider is that the OEM inverter really runs off pretty light gauge wire so it's not going to handle much current. It'll run a laptop or phone charger, that's about the limit.

If you're looking to run something more that that, consider getting an inverter that's rated for what you intend to use it for. Then make sure you wire it for the rated amperage and distance from the battery.

Well the unit itself is only 15$ so I don’t my having it if it’s just plug n play just to have handy. But I don’t want to buy it if I have to buy a whole new harness. Anyone know if it has the connection?

Well, that $15 is only for the plug. That does not include the inverter itself which is another $100+, part 68080323AB if I'm not mistaken.
