Default Off Roading advice..

I have a stock 2007 JKU Sahara with the 4:10 gears and i know that right off the line they are light off road ready. So my question is...what would be the recommended bare bone basic upgrades to do to increase where i can go off roading, im not talking extreme rock crawling and all that..

factory is a pretty capable vehicle. But to increase the mileage, some good All terrain tires or some mud tires would be good and a lift.

I just took my Jeep out last weekend. It is a 2dr X with 3.21 gears, no lift, and the Goodyear SR-A tires. I was shocked at how well it could do. I just put it in 4-lo and it crawled right through the trail. Got to climb a couple rocks too!

To do everything on that trail all I would need is a small lift. Possibly even the TF performance leveling kit or a 2" BB and some tires that are bigger with a better tread pattern.. probably just 33s. But for now I like just having fun stock. Because its cheaper!

You are very lucky to have the 4.10s. If you have good tires, the next thing I would get is a set of front sway bar disconnects.

X2. Disconnects will get you a long way with little $$.

Light trails?

4lo & air your tires down below 18psi: point and go.

You'll scrape your skidplates a lot and bottom out the sport shocks... but you'll make it through just about anything.
Bring a friend to help you through the rough spots.

Buy a set of used Rubicon tires and it makes a world of difference off-road. Huge improvement over the SRA's.

Like they said above, mud terrains, front sway bar disco's, 4 low and air down. You will be flat amazed! Then you'll be hooked...and you'll realize why JEEP stands for Just Empty Every Pocket!

All i've done is change the wheels and added 33's, well, nearly 33's, and I've had no problems. I am looking for a set of QD's. What brand would you guys recommend? Or are they basically all the same?
