Default oil change indicator

anyone know what build date this was added? i have a 10/06. i was told it was added late in 07. just wondering if i have..or not.
guess i will have to see if it comes on in few thousand.

I have a late March 07 build date and don't have the oil condition sensor in mine.

My build date is 2/19/08 and I have one. Went off for the first time at 5500 miles a day ago. Shows you it does not keep track of time of last change. That would have been over 1 year if I went by it to change my oil.

WOW! Fellas mine did not go off until 7 or 8k miles. I have not had it go off but twice in 35,000 miles. I keep the oil changed every 5,000 miles and use Mobil. JOE>

I have it on my '08, and it's kind of annoying. Apparently, it goes off according to when the computer "thinks" you need to change your oil based on your driving habits (speeds, stop/go, idling...things like that).

When mine has gone off, I just reset it and stick to the scheduled maintenance.
