Default Oil leak or tranny leak???????

looks like oil feel like oil it is black like oil so why is my dealer telling me that it is the transmission cooler? I thought tranny fluid was reddish hoses around the connections? They don't look like they are getting coated with oil.
Went camping towing a tent trailer in my 08 ruby 4 dr auto, ( 106,000miles) towed it just fine but I noticed alot of oil on the ground when I backed it into the the spot. and a lot more oil when it was parked in the garage after the trip. I had this problem after an oil change at jiffy lube. took it back to them the topped it off and cleaned it up. that was a month or 2 back. I had it into the dealer to do brakes before my trip. and a quick oil change. so when I got it back it seemed fine, but when I towed the trailer and backed it up it felt like the drive train was shaking all to h___ and I swear it seemed like it started to leak more. Towed the trailer home fine, no issues ( highway 1 from big sur to san diego) I can see no obvious source for the leak but it is quite close to being directly below the oil filter and seems to be well away from the tranny cooler. any thoughts????

So I need a second opinion non dealer > Anyone know a good jeep mechanic in the north San diego county area?

If me, I'd pressure wash it clean, drive a little, and try to see where it is coming from.

Check your trans dipstick. I hope it's still red, reddish. If it's black on the dipstick that's a definite problem.

You might compare the smells of the ATF+4 and motor oil from the dipsticks compared to the leak. I find them distinctly different.

Check the aluminum spacers between the block and the oil pan.

Mark has the best advice.....just do it!! Then you'll know exactly where it's coming from. Simple.
