Default oil levels

How many of you guys have notice your jeep's oil levels decreasing between oil changes.

I know many have the problem, others just don't know because they don't check their oil.

Any recalls etc.

I have noticed it's just about one quart low at 3000 miles. Do you ever add oil when see a half quart low? I do to get it back to full, is this a good or bad idea?

I change my oil every 3000 miles. I just can"t get away from the old habits. At 3000 it is maybe 1/8th of a qt low. I figure it will get worse as time goes on.

As far as checking and filling, I check it every time I fill up the tank. I would fill it if it is noticeably lower than 1/3 of the way down on what it max and fill on the dipstick. Over filling is bad as well, so I don't add too much. As long as it stays in that middle region between fill and full, I am satisfied.

I've changed mine about 5x in 8000 miles. Whenever I think about it really. I have cases of full synthetic oil from work, so it just costs a filter. Make sure to top it off after starting. I must check my dipstick and add oil about 4x to get it to 'full/safe'

Count me in....about a quart every 3,000 miles, if not a tad more. From what I've researched, there's not much that can be done about it...old/poor engine design or something is what I've read and that Chrysler basically says it's normal for that much oil useage with this engine. Don't quote me on that though, it's just what I've been reading....I just try to keep it topped off.
