Angry OK so WTF?!

So May 19, 2010 I purchased my JK Unlimited from a local dealer here in the wilds of Chicago's western burbs, best day of my life. Anyway the Jeep only had 28 miles on it and already had the hardtop installed. The soft top was lowered and riding in the back which I had removed and noticed there was no hardware for it. No door surrounds and no windows!!! WTF?!?! So here we are over a year later and I am still fighting with them. Today I took it in for the PCM recall and asked about said windows and parts, long story short I was told that since it was a transfer from a different dealer that I would have to purchase all the parts!!! Seriously what the hell? I am supposed to buy parts that the Jeep was supposed to come with? I mean the hardtop that was on there was an extra they decided to throw on..... Anybody else run into this kind of crap? I mean hell two days after I bought it I had to take it back in and have the actual light bulb and pig tail for the drivers side indicator light on the fender flare installed...... I guess the next step is to call Chrysler directly.....

That's BS. They sold it to you, regardless of where they got it they should stand behind it.

Small claims court... Id take your window sticker and highlight the equipment that was to be included and the price. Show that the dealer has the equipment and is now trying to sell you the equipment that you already paid for. It's kinda like bait and switch.

We call it Theft by deception in NH, it is a criminal charge.

If your window sticker reflects the ”dual top” option for about $1300 they owe you the windows and door surrounds. If the sticker only lists the hardtop option for $7-800 the dealer added the hard/ soft top, then you would be out of luck. If it didnt come from the factory with the hardtop, its on the dealer, unless you have a ”we owe” from the dealer at delivery. After delivery they only owe you whats on the we owe sheet.

Sorry to hear that. Hope it works out! I'd call Chrysler and report the dealership if you don't get what you need...they will investigate them for that.

I purchased mine and went to put the soft top on 8 months later and found that I was missing all the door surrounds. Called the dealer I purchased it from and they advised me to get a quote on the parts from a local dealer. The dealer I bought from was about 25 miles away. Long story short I was told by the dealer to call chrysler. Called chrysler and immediately got bumped up to a case manager. They called the dealer and 2 weeks later the dealer sent me the parts...I had not owned a jeep before so I did not know I was missing parts until I went to put soft top on....Good luckl

Yup. Call Chrysler. The way these dealers treat their customers never ceases to amaze me.

Yep, had the same thing happen to me. The jeep came in from another dealer, and the windows for the soft top magically dissappeared. Fortunately the dealer went good for them, almost 3 months on back order though. They were going to give me a set from another Sahara on the lot, but I said no because theyre were no kahki ones. If it is supposed to come with dual tops, they have to supply all hardware and windows.

That is not right. You should definitely call Chrysler and complain on that dealership. I'm sure they will put some pressure on them. This is why so many dealerships are called stealerships...

Hummm my jeep had 235 Kms on it when it was delivered I wonder if I should have asked for a credit. Sorry you just made me think.
