Default okay to roll side windows?

I bought a Window Sock to store my back and two side windows for my JK 4-door. The side windows do not seem to want to roll due the plastic channels on bottom and side. Is it okay to 'force the roll from side to side (that seems to be the easiest? Any advice? I am I missing something?

Yep. Because of the plastic I found it easiest to roll them side to side. Works great!

Thats the way I roll mine to, side to side. I take the rail off of the back one and roll all 3 side to side.

The details below came directly from Bob Abondolo, the President of Clover Patch, Inc based on an email that I sent to him:

The hard "L" channel should be at the seam as shown. With the window as shown the "L" channel is positioned so the next side (quarter) window butts up against the first "L" channel.

Do not attempt to roll up the hard "L" channel.

I have a set of 2 door windows in my office and they have been there for months. I would be cautious during cold weather. Storing the windows in a cold environment is fine but they must be warmed up before removed. They can crack. This has nothing to do with the Window Roll. Storing in warm weather is fine. A few hours in the sun, parked, is fine. You may find wrinkles after a long storage time. Simply install the windows, close all doors and windows and ride on the highway with the vent or air on. This billows the windows out and removes the wrinkles. Some people leave their window in the Window Roll all winter while their hard top is on.

Dan, you probably have an old set of instructions. Especially if you purchased your Window Roll at Quadratec or 4WD Hardware. The new set has photos of the installation. Go here http://tinyurl.com/33Z92P and you can see the installation photos on the web.

I followed the "old" instructions the first time, and tried to roll the "L" channel. It started flexing and turning white, BAD IDEA! I roll them like the photo now and have left them in the roll for weeks on end with no problem. I leave the metal bar on the back window, it keeps the roll from sagging!

I had a cover patch with one of my TJs. Over time it deformed the belt rail and it started to be at more of a 45 degree angle than flush like it was new. This led to them slapping more in the wind and that's about it since they are zippered in. I didn't like the deformation and eventually stored them flat. It never really became a problem when in the roll but I'm pretty paranoid I guess.

Default Good Results...

I've used the Clover Patch now 7 or 8 times just like was shown in the photo...found that the windows extended just slightly past the top of the roll, but when the whole thing was put together, everything was fine...don't forget to tuck the last panel of felt inside the back window zipper to keep the zipper from folding back on the window and marking it...I think it's an excellent product...
