Default Operator error, doors locked & won't open...doh!

So I was in a hurry putting the doors back on...and closed both back doors on their respective wiring...now I can't get them to unlock from the inside or out.

Any ideas?

are they locked because of pressure from the wires in the jamb? or is it an electrical issue?

I'm not sure, but since the doors aren't plugged in to the system, I don't think it's electrical.

My guess is that they went into lock mode when disconnected, and since I can't plug them in, won't unlock. You would have thought that you could open them from the inside...

When i get all 4 doors back on i usually end up w/ 1 or 2 locked and the others unlocked. I can always unlock the locked ones w/ out any problems. Not sure how they'd go into locked mode when they were unplugged other then if you locked them from the door when you were carrying them. Are you sure they're in the hinges right? Sometimes if my door isn't all the way down on the hinge the doors don't shut right.

Did you pull the electrical harness on the doors too much and possibly pull out a wire to the door locking mechanisim???

Did you check your plug-in connections for the door to see if there is a bent plug or corrosion that may be causing it to not lock and unlock??

Try battery Disconnection for 10 minutes to see if it will reset the ECU????

The problem is that the wiring harness that plugs the door into the jeep's electrical system has been caught in the shut door. So no electric to the doors, the power locking system doesn't work.

I'm thinking child safety locks won't allow them to be opened from the back (inside), but without the power...

Yes child locking you are screwed without power....

Have you looked at taking the plastic panel off the door to see if you can get at the locking mechanism????

or worst case call AAA if you have a membership or see a dealer and get them to bring that slick little bar that slides in and unlatches the door.

***EDIT**** slick little bar's name came to me - SLIM JIM

that would be in the door jamb though?

Only thing i can think of is pop off the panel and see if you could get in there to trip it.

Or, ask a theif how to break into it.

Yes but I think you can only access that white latch for child locks when the door is open.
