The problem is that even when it clicks (first time), gas gushes out. Pisses me off cause my gas cap hangs right under it and pours all over it.

Mine just started doing it at 39000 miles and i also submited the complaint.
Everyone should do it!!!

Man that does suck, I have had it happen a few times...I hope it was the pump and not a problem that will get worse.

This is a known problem. Do a search and you can find that there is a faulty valve in the vent-line inside the tank causing a build-up of pressure in the tank once the fuel reaches the top of the fill tube. Once pressure builds sufficiently, the tank "burps" through the fill tube rather than the vent tube. I don't know if this is related to the OP's problem, but is a safety concern that anyone with this problem needs to report to ensure Chrysler fixes the problem.

I've yet to find anything so specifica bout it. Is there a more "official" type posting anywhere you can point me to so I have some ammo at the dealership?

My 2009 JK has done this almost every time since I got it. I know now to stop the pump at a certain litre, but its friggin annoying I cannot leave it and let it click off by itself or I come back to gas all over the place. I never try to "top it up" to a dollar value anymore like I have always done with every other vehicle I have owned. Oh well I still love me Jeep <3

I just bought my jeep a month ago and the gas pump would not click off. It would overflow every time. I took it back to where I bought it and they replaced the gas tank.

07 here, (had it one week) and the first time I filled it this happened. Now I just pump slower and have not had a spill again. I even up the dollar amount to the next dollar every time (topping off) and it's been okay...

I have found throughout life that some vehicles can be pumped at top speed and some you have to "nurse" to fill them up. No problem here as I am not in a hurry!
