Default Overheated last night

Went to a bonfire in the middle Bfe where I live, and my jeep overheated. I usually live my vehicles running out there because it's private property and I'm always ready to bolt if something happens. After about an hour of idling my jeep straight overheated, this has never happened with any of the other vehicles I've had... Do jeeps just not idle well or is there a chance there's another issue?

Make sure your fans spinning. Mine stopped while hitting a huge mud hole. Long story short I needed to powerwash it and spray it with wd40

Check fan, coolant level and then maybe for any leaks around your water pump housing or thermostat.

Have you been mudding or puddle jumping recently? Those electric fan motors really don't hold up to those types of activities.

I'll ask the obvious - why do you leave your vehicles running? Do you like to waste gas? Do you like to cause unnecessary wear on your engine?

The same thing happen to me after I hit a large mud hole leaving one of our trail rides. My Jeep overheated twice on the way home. Come to find out I had lots of mud caked on the fan and in the condenser. I sprayed it out that night and was good to go. The next day it did it again while idling in traffic. I took it to the self cleaning car wash, and cleaned it again. About 20 minutes of cleaning, and idling, it never over heated again. Even when you think you have done a good job, do it again to be sure.
