Overheating
I was wondering if anyone ever had this happen.... I have a 08 X It has 3,500 on it and today during a 80* drive when I stopped at a light it heated up the engine light came on and a pop off valve blew open and blew steam out. Got it back up to speed and it was fine. Got home coolant level if like it should be. Plus Reverse is very jumpy. (think I got a POS.) Jack Miller In KC MO said they would fix it, but wont give me a loaner. (Said "that is my responsibility") I wont even post what my reply was to them... any help on this would be very appreciated.

I have an 08 X auto, air and freedom top and have never had an overheating issue. I live in New England and have had severel 90 + degree weather and I even have the air on and the needle stays right in the middle, in heavy traffic also. I took off the air dam as it is useless. FYI, I have 3900 on mine.

I have had mine off road and no problems. Looks like some people have overheating issues and some do not. I have been through some fairly decent mud/trails with the air on. The needle does not budge. Hope this helps.

I just had my fan relay go bad while off-roading, which quickly caused overheating. The dealer put in a new relay and and there was no problem. Of, course, they tried the old one again, which then worked.
If you overheated while stopped (no airflow), but returned to normal while moving (return of air through the radiator), there is probably something wrong with your fan.

I replaced mine today too, did you get yours warrantied? I didnt even bother trying. With my snorkel, griffan radiator and all my mud I HIGHLY doubt they would have covered it. Plus i would have had to rent a car and get it towed. 150 for new fan ass. on moparpartsamerica.com
