Default overheating problems

Hey guys just recently my Jeep has started overheating. It's never had this problem before but I was sitting in a car wash and the warning light came on and the warning started sounding. It hasn't stopped and it is the worst when I'm stopped at a red light or something with the engine still running. It will overheat but when I start going it is fine. And the air conditioner won't blow cold air anymore. Wtf is going on??

Assuming your fan is coming on, your rad is plugged. The added breeze you get when driving helps and as soon as you stop at a light/idle, temp starts to rise. Crap gets inbetween the fins and even if it looks clean on the outside front/back, trust me, it's not. This has happened to me. You need to remove the fan and cowl (not hard) and get a hose in there to flush everything out, that's the only way to really get it clean

just get yourself a squirt gun and blast out in between the fins then when they are good and clean check the fan.. if running great. if not.. well check the fan first on a different power source with different connectors, if the fan works... time to track yourself down some wiring issues. if not. time to get yourself a new fan.

Check your radiator cooling fan. It sounds like it is not working. If it was a plugged radiator, then that would not cause the air conditioner not to cool. You describe the classic symptoms of an inoperative cooling fan.

Ya know, I was driving for about five hours and my Air Conditioner shut off on me out in the desert. It was close to 120F in death valley and it sucked.

When I got home I installed an aftermarket auxiliary cooler and it hasn't happened since.

My fan is being replaced right now. It would come on but was very slow and sounded terrible. I wonder if all this mud had anything to do with it?
