I have to replace my oil control valves anyone know the socket size for them? I guess I could just take one with me to check but thought I’d ask here first. Thanks

It’s bigger than a 1 1/4” socket but smaller than 1 1/2” so I’m thinking a 1 7/16 but I’m going to take one with me to get the exact size. Thank you for your reply.

No worries. Don't hesitate to reach out and ask if you need anything else or need some tips/tricks. it's been a hot minute since I've had mine torn apart.

I recently had a new engine put in but ever since I can’t drive uphill above 35 mph talked to the company I got the engine from and he insists on it being oil control valve so I’m really hoping that’s it cause I’m tired of it not being back to normal

I can't in a million years imagine how it could be the oil control valves. if the oil control valve had an issue, then the cam phasers would not be functioning correctly and you'd be throwing constant camshaft codes similar to P0369. the oil control valve is simply bolt with oil passages that allow oil to flow to the phaser to move a small pin which then allows the cam to advance or retard. No way you not being able to go over 35mph is the oil control valve. they're telling you to throw expensive parts at it that are not a 5 min swap.

are you throwing the same code the OP had or something different. we need more info.

Well long story short we had a misfire in cylinder 6 last year couldn’t figure it out. It drove totally fine but wanted it looked at took it to a shop they test drove it and blew hole on each side of the block. Wanted $8700.00 to put in a used motor with 97k miles I bought a new motor with zero miles for $4300.00 when it arrived one of the camshaft ms were damaged was overnighted a brand new one now this issue has been happening and the master mechanic said he is most certain it’s an oil control valve so I got 4 new ones to put in just haven’t had time yet
