Default paint chipping from front axle, rust prevention

The paint on my front axle is starting to flake off and rust in spots. Paint is off the front diff cover and on all the mounting brackets.

What should I do to prevent the rust? Best option?

OMG
First vehicle? Paint Luke
Seriously though...may you be blessed to live long enough for any rusty parts on your suspension cause a mechanical failure.
You are already blessed to own a vehicle high enough off the ground that you can see this rust that ALL vehicles have and in some cases will fail due to it. Relax or you'll be painting it 'till the cows come home if you actually drive it.

Get you some Eastwood rust encapsulator. Its cheap, easy to use, and easy to touch up. I have used it for years and it does really well in areas that use a lot of salt on the roads.
