Default Parking Brake Problems

So I have a 2007 JK and last weekend I was out wheeling and the parking brake light came on. Then i was think maybe it just bounced and came up a little so i put it on then took it off a couple times and the light didnt go off. Since it didnt go off i recycled the jeep and it went off and it didnt do it again that day. Then this morning i was coming out of my neighborhood and it did it again so then i did the same thing as last time and after i recycled it the light stayed on. I knew that the brake wasn't on so i just decided to drive anyway and i got about half mile down the road and it shut off. Is anyone else having this problem? if you are what did you do to get it to stop?

Probably low on brake fluid tripping sensor on the brake master cylinder. Mine did this recently and I added some fluid and light disappeared. Probably a sign of brake pad wear but this is what I would check first.

Could be the parking brake switch or parking brake out of adjustment

I had the same issue within 25K miles, no leaks but my brake fluid was disappearing. I checked everything but the fluid level and after calling the dealership mechanics they pretty slapped me around through the phone for not checking it.

It's been fine since then and I check pretty often. I have a new master cylinder and haven't seen any fluid loss.

I was in Illinois for two years when the fluid was mysteriously "evaporating", for the last three years in Alaska no loss.
