Default Particles and sediment in coolant

I purchase this jeep a few weeks ago and I was about to do a coolant flush then I noticed a lot of sediment and white gel looking particles in my coolant. Not sure if the coolant was ever mixed but it's suppose to have the orange 100k coolant it's a 2012 here are some pics not sure if u can see

Are you talking about the stuff in the bottom of the overflow tank? (I don't see any pictures.)

There are a few theories on what causes the stuff you see in the tank. So far, no one really knows.

The best you can do is go ahead with the flush. Pay particular attention to the heater core. Clean out the bottle, too.

I think there were threads on here a couple of years ago of people finding a bunch of sand in their cooling system.

xerex? Does that comply with the requirements? There's been some pretty dire warnings about using the correct coolant type. HOAT, vs OAT. 2012 and below need HOAT. 2013 and above need OAT. You can't mix the two or damage may occur. See the screenshot from the Chrysler service bulletin.

Zerex G-05 is HOAT, and meets Chrysler's spec. Does it matter if it's HOAT or OAT, when filling after a good flush?

I used to drink Zarex when I was a kid.

that's a good question. I don't know the answer. I'll just keep using the HOAT for my 2012. I had to top it off once. I had a loose connection at my battery terminal which allowed the Jeep temps to go high during idle. I lost some coolant during that time. I bought the right stuff from NAPA and topped it off after fixing my the loose terminal.

if you do a good flush and get all the old stuff out then no it wont matter which you put back in. Just be sure you dont mix them. Hoat and Oat dont like each other lol
