Is there anyway to turn off the passenger side airbag?

 

Is there a light or something that comes tells you it is switched off?

 

I was told there is basically a buffer zone where it is deactivated. I have an 07 X and noticed the "deactivated" light was on at random times and it never hit why until I asked. Apparently between a certain amount of weight it will come on, basically the amount of say a car seat carrying a baby... when my gf would sit there it wouldnt come on.. when nothing is in the seat it wouldnt come on.. when I would set my work laptop bag on it.. it would come on.. so that explains it.
