Default Passenger seat creaking bad 2000 miles

Passenger seat creaks bad now in just about all situations, it's a 2017 with only 2000 miles. Only does it with person in seat and I can make it stop by putting a lot of sideways pressure on the back part if I just reach over and push hard on it continually.

Need to find time to get to dealer for the inevitable multiple trips to solve. Anything obvious to tighten or lube before I go there?

My 2012 creaked for a while on that side, but stopped. My buddy that car pools with me is a little fat, so he has broken the foam on the side anyhow. It is a Jeep, so it doesn't matter to me.

I've read a lot of old threads with some stuff to try but looks like many end up with bad seat frame replaced, even a TSb for it. As for the it's a Jeep theory, not on a new $35,000 vehicle should seats creak like an old door. On an old beat up or classic one I might accept it. Not in this case though.

I've had some creaking that was solved by tightening down the 4 10mm bolts that hold the seat slider to the riser, but it sounds like your issue might be more related to the back portion of the seat. I know how annoying that sound can be!

I'll take a look at those bolts. Yes pressing hard sideways against backrest will stop the noise with the same person in the seat. Otherwise it does it constantly at moment when someone is in seat, changing positions of seat makes no difference. I will have time to go to dealer in couple weeks if need be.

Only other thing I think of is there are 4 bolts that hold the back of the seat to the base. They do not have anything to do with the reclining feature....they simply attached the two pieces. They are damn tight from the factory. I can't imagine there'd be any way they were loose on your newer jeep. Outside of those though.....just springs and such internal in the back of the seat. Not a whole lot to it; however, if you're putting sideways pressure on the back of the seat, that is then transfering pressure to the base (via those bolts holding the two pieces together).....so maybe the problem could be more in the base.

Ok, I will look when I get home tonight and try to tighten what I can see. If nothing, it's under warranty just trying to avoid the dealer hassle if possible. Thanks.
