Love it. That engine will flat fly once it's broken in. I mean you can peg 6,000 rpms in a heartbeat when doing onramp accelerations.

in one word, it's AWESOME. all kinds of power, 20 mpg on the freeway at 70 mph, and with the new auto trans the best thing off road too. a major step-change up in the jeep world.

I like the Pentastar. I think it's a good amout of power for the jeep. I never drove the 3.8, but have owned both the 4.2 and the 4.0. I never had any power issues with either of those either. The 4.2 with the carter 2 barrel carb was a pain to keep idling properly without adjusting seasonally. I don't miss that! I've heard some say that the pentastar doesn't have good low end torque, but I don't see it. It seems good to me. I hope it stays a reliable engine. I think this is the most offroad capable stock jeep I've owned, and the longer wheel base heavier JKU handles so much better on the road in the snow than my CJ and TJ. I have noticed after it warms up and runs for a while it sounds like it might be pinging a little around 2000 rpm at light throttle, but I'm not sure if that's what I'm hearing yet.

At 14 MPG I would think it would do 0-60 in about 4 seconds.

It's an improvement considering what we compare it to.

It might be too early to judge w/ just over 550miles on my 2012 unlimited w/ 3.73 rear axle but i've been getting around 13mpg... mostly city driving short distances with tons of stop and go. Aside from the gas mileage, love the power, accelerates better than a lot of common cars do and the new auto trans is a huge improvement
