I do like to get into the throttle now and then, but the best mileage I've logged so far was when I was actually trying to be a good boy -- I was vey gentle on the throttle, let the transmission shift when it wanted to, and otherwise drove ultra-conservatively for the entire tank. That was a couple of tanks ago.

I just filled up tonight and before I reset the computer it was reading 15.5 MPG average. My 3.8 did better than that. I'm going to try again to max out the MPG to see if the discrepancy between what you're reporting and what I'm seeing is my right foot or the motor.
The best so far on a road trip with cruise on at 65 was 23.8mpg's. About 5,000 miles on it now

So far the best I got on a road trip was 23.8 mpg, but averaging 20.7

Engine date: 20110918

Build date: 02/2012

Extremely paranoid owner here and even though I do experience some slight ticking, it is identical on either side of the engine. This leads me to believe that what I hear is normal....at least for now.

My engine number is 20111118, or 11/18/2011
Mfg date is 4/2012

I have almost 8,000 miles an while I do hear a slight ticking noise, I'm convinced it's the fuel injectors or something normal. It is a very faint noise at all. Keeping my fingers crossed!

2012 JKU Sport
Block date 20110815
MFG date 10/2011

Just turned 7k. Hear ticking on drivers side. I can hear it while stopped and idling but faint. Fairly certain it hasn't gotten any worse and its been there since day one @ 350 miles when i bought it. Averaging about 16 to 19 mph mostly city, no noticeable performance issues. Trip to Florida a few months back with 4 passengers, luggage and golf clubs on a receiver hitch rack I averaged 18 to 20 going about 75 mph.
