This may be a question for a mechanic out there that has worked on these head problems and also one I'm pretty sure has not been asked. Lets say you have the bad head and nothing has happened yet. Is there a driver style or habit etc that could totally avoid problem from ever occurring? Basically one or more of the valves is sticking at some point in time right?

I am surprised of this issues, I drove on same engine around 30k miles fine, it was 2011 Grand Cherokee. Now could anyone confirm is it just JK/JKU issue or wider to any Chrysler car with Pentastar v6? Something is different? Oil?

It is all 3.6 Pentastars with that series cylinder head. When I had mine in, there was a guy who had his Avenger in for the same thing.

Default hate to bring up an old thread, but.....

.....somewhat new to the forum.
Have a 2012 Gecko Green Wrangler Sport with 6-speed....CEL came on intermittenly about a month ago. Got it in the shop today and they said it needs the left (drivers side) cylinder head replaced
Have about 22k on it....should both heads be replaced? Thanks in advance

The drivers side seems to be more prone to going it. Let them change the one and don't keep worrying about it. Had mine done at 19k
