Default Pitman Arm Nut size

What's the size nut on the pitman arm? Some say 33mm, some say 34mm, which is it?

HAHA! I just had this issue! Mine is an '08 Rubi. I used a six-point 34mm socket and it worked, but was too big (would have slipped if it was 12-point). I'd say 33mm.

Where'd you find the socket?

Borrowed it from a local repair shop. I actually had an appointment for them to do it, but the guy saw the Jeep, said "you are obviously mechanically inclined" and handed me the socket and pitman arm puller. He was running behind. I gladly borrowed them and gave him a $20 as thanks. That socket was impossible to find, and I was going to just have the dealer do it.

That's what i did. Put a drop pitman, then took the nut off to put on a sector shaft brace.

also not sure but i would bet you could also use a 1" 5/16 socket on the nut.

when you have a drop pitman arm it helps keep the shaft coming out of the steering box from getting bent or messed up.basiclly helps keep it from moving side to side.

I made mine but here's a look at one http://www.offroadevolution.com/stor...?prod=EVO-1015
