Default plastic clip for transmission

I have an 08 rubicon auto . it has aplastic clip that keeps the transmission linkage connected. with it the transmission won't shift. I wen down to the dealer to have him do it it is under warranty (lifetime on 08) but he says no more just drive up make an appointment week and 1/2 wait. so I bough the parts and will do it my self.

Question is does anyone know if there is a write up showing how to do it?

If memory serves me I think sm_rubi had an issue like this during a Moab Trip. Maybe he will be able to chime in on what the fix was. It really cannot be that hard. I would start by removing the center console and then taking it from there.

Since there is no write up how about putting one together.

Yes, for us the clips simply slipped off which is pretty straightforward to reinstall but make sure they snap on or they could come off as we found out when the dealer replaced our shifter. Most of the time the clips break with age so carry some with you...the hardest part is removing the console but after doing it a few times now it's a breeze. Definitely, DIY and if you have the funds check out the cables offered by Advanced Adapters.

Default yes but

it is down below on the shifter linkage and the new clip dose not look like the old plus I can't seem to get it tops on and I am little timid about pushing it too hard and bending the the lever arm. thoughts ?
