Stock JK TechBulletin board forum regarding issues with OE (original equipment) components of the Jeep JK Wrangler (Rubicon, Sahara, Unlimited and X) such as factory suspension parts, engine, transmission, body parts, interior fixtures and the on-board computer.
Anyone ever had an issue with one of their pod switch panels sticking? When I push in my hazard button the lights work fine, but I can’t get it to depress to turn the hazards off. I was wondering if there’s a safe spray I can use? I imagine wd-40 would fix it but long term the residue would attract more dirt and cause it to be gummy again. I’d rather not replace the whole pod for $50 but if I have to I guess I will.
I had a similar problem with one of my Jeeps (2005TJ) and found that if I used a can of compressed gas that normally is used to clean Computer key boards or similar I could spray the gas between the switch and the dash and it cleaned out all of the "crap" that has accumulated. Worked great for me.
Thanks for the responses but I ended up having to buy a new one ($50). When I took the old one out there was some type of gummy material in that button so idk what the previous owner did to it but it was all gunked up.
