Default Popping noise happening when underside is dirty

08 Sahara Unlimited 4dr with about 74000mi.

Im not sure if this happens to anyone else, but 60% of the time whenever im stopped and then accelerate there are one or two loud popping noises from the rear. It may be the joints? or suspension?

It seems whenever I pressure wash the underside the noise goes away for a few days. Im thinking it could be an issue with dirt getting into certain places.

Has anyone had this problem? Any easy fix for preventing this popping noise??

Thanks!

Could be small rocks caught in the tires getting thrown out when you take off. Could hit the muffler or tail pipe back there and cause that pop.

check the rear springs, make sure they are seated properly top and bottom. if they are not seated they will slide and 'pop' as they shift.

Water may just be giving them soemthing to slide on for a day until it dries up.

How about checking your control arm bolts. I know if mine get any movement in them they will pop or clunk with the torque of the driveshaft. then we they get wet it allows them to slide easier.
Also check your driveshaft...

It ended up being the coils not being seated properly. Once stopped, the coil would actually slide forward, then when i accelerated they shifted back and 'popped'. I went in and adjusted it one afternoon and no more sound.

Thanks for your help
