Hey all,
....Has anyone had this problem? I've had it happen twice and felt like I "caught" it right before a few other times...
Seems that when I shift from 1st-2nd...or 2nd to 3rd....and I'm accelerating (up to around 3k on the tach...) sometimes the manual stick just pops outta gear into neutral and the engine revs (as I'm usually accelerating as previously stated...) WTF is that all about? I HAVE noticed that usually it's when the Jeep's "cold"....or only been driving a mile or two...?

Another forum member was having issues with that too. Turned out to be his internal shift boot. Might be worth using that search function for.

 

Thanks Duffy....That link was spot on. Sounds like EXACTLY what's going on.
So long as it's not a transmission problem, I'll let it ride and fix/switch/modify the inner boot @ my next service....
