Default Possible dumb question regarding Avg. Economy.

So I bought my JK last Monday, and I'm not sure if I'm reading my Average Economy Guage correctly. Here's a couple pic so you know excatly what I'm talking about.

So, as I am reading it, the first pic shows that the jeep uses 13.8 litres to travel 100km. The second pic shows that the jeep uses 17.1 litres to travel 100 km. I have seen it go as low as 4 and as high as 123, although only briefly. So, if I am reading this correctly, the lower the litres per 100km, the better the milage. I'm reading this correctly, or am I even dumber than I think I might be? I am aware that these are approximate readings only. Thanks in advance.

You are correct. The lower the L/100km the better fuel economy you are getting.

Thanks for clarifying. Sure hope it drops back down to 4L/100km, but I won't hold my breath!

Don't pay too much attention to the readout until you have calculated quite a few tankfuls, the old fashioned way.
My readout is usually on the optimistic side.

Also, give it some miles and time for engine break-in for L/km's to drop a little more & note that winter blended fuel and cooler temps will raise your fuel consumption.

you can of course set it to read miles per gallon... !!!

easier to use and fewer wild fluctuations... !
