Power steering pump bust!

So I'm on my third power steering pump and it needs a swap AGAIN. I think it's due to higher RPM's because I regeared her but I went a little too low. Any ideas? Not sure if there is a pump out there for higher RPM's that would fix the problem. I've found one but not sure if anyone else has had this problem and found a fix for it.

The typical failure on these is from overheating. They have plastic fins on the pump impeller that bend when too hot. They get too hot from the work of turning oversized tires (especially when not rolling), running a front locker, holding the steering wheel at full lock for more than a few seconds, using 4WD on non-slipping surfaces, etc. You can buy an oil cooler and plumb it into your PS system to help the pump keep its cool. Or you can upgrade to a ram assist steering system.

What are your specs? This has happened 3x also. The last time the dealer said a piece of the fin( like Mark said).the piece got lodged and never got and the pump never fully taken a part.

I broke my power steering pump in the mud one day, the pump housing actually cracked. I was trying to get out of a rut and was sawing the wheel back and forth and lost power steering when I got out of the mud I opened the hood and it was spraying power steering fluid out the pump

This one actually replaces the existing but you have to swap out air intakes or cut into your existing factory intake box so now you possibly lose height clearance for fording...

My wife blew hers out in a snowdrift. I replaced it with one from autozone. Well it wouldn't turn at low rpm. Went an got another one from there. It whined all the time an kept getting air in it. I went to junkyard an got a factory one for $35. It was from a 2010 an had 15k miles. Works just fine. I'm going to add a cooler soon.
