Default Power steering pump fix

Question for the adepts:

Should a mechanically interested but really noob guy try to replace/fix a power steering pump? I ask because the dealership quoted me 800 bones plus tax... Really digging into my mod budget

My 2011 JK power steering pump is misting PS fluid all over the underside of my hood, and my PS looses pressure at low RPM.

Thanks in advance fellahs

For $ 800 sounds like they want to replace the whole pump. Is it leaking from a hose by chance ? You can do the pump your self easily and save a ton of coin.

They said the hose is "sweating", but im not sure i believe that and thats not the primary issue, its spraying out of the front of it during operation.

We don't have autozone in Canada. I found one up here from "crown automotive" with pulley at 210$. Not the stock part, a replacement. Any words of wisdom before i click?

same pump I used when I replaced mine....its good...I added a Derale inline heat sink cooler as well which helped a lot. My fluid hasn't overheated since.
