Power Steering Pump - local places only have one without the pulley

Long story short, my water pump broke where the thread meets the pulley cover. This caused the serpentine belt to shred, and an incredible amount of shredded belt got stuck behind the power steering pump pulley causing it to leak like a sieve.

I replaced the water pump and removed the shredded belt behind the power steering pulley but it's still leaking and the pump groans when the tires are turned.

I have found a few writeups, but they all use a power steering pump with a pulley allready on it.

Autozone website shows they have one in stock about 15 miles away but without the pulley.

How hard is it to use their pulley to remove and attach it to a new pump? Or am I better off ordering online and taking a day off work next week to replace?

Thanks in advance for any advice...

i havent done one on the JK yet but im assuming its a press on pully and if thats the case they are easy. just rent the Ps pully remover installer tool and you can do it in like 5 min. Mabey a bit longer if its still on the jeep depending on how hard it is to get to .

I havent done one pn the JK.. but on past cars the pulley was easy to R and R.. as the last post says. just rent the proper puller.. it will be a pulley remover AND installer in the same tool..

AUtozone you can get the tool rentel free .. theres enough room under the hood (im assuming you have the 3.8) to get to everything pretty easily.. I havent looked but you may be able to get the PS pump off and remove and reinstall the pulley on the garage floor instead of in the jeep...

Mine was a pain. On my 07 I replaced the pump and this happened trying to pull the pulley off.

Got one with a pulley from Morris 4x4 I think it was.

Well, thanks for the encouragement. I drove the 20 minutes to the Autozone with the one in stock, and then borrowed a pulley remover from the closer Autozone and proceeded to work.

I tried to do it while still on the motor and used a screwdriver to keep it from turning. Unfortunately my manly strength caused this:

So it looks as if I am driving the wife's car for a few days!

Anyone know a shop with reasonable expedited shipping for one of these with a pulley?

factorychryslerparts .com has them for about $170 shipped. I plan on calling them when they wake up in the morning to see how long it'll take to get to coastal VA.

Any other ideas?

Thanks again for the help!

Awesome! Ordered on your recommendation. UPS maps show it's one day delivery time from their location, so should get here pretty quick.

Thanks!
