Default Power windows stopped working?

The weirdest thing happened on the way to work this morning. Went to roll the windows up and only the rear would work up/down/up........no problem. The front how ever went up but would not go back down. Got to work, shut the Jeep down, then re-started and all was well. Now the are fine.
Has this happened to any one else?

If it happens again, don't post about it, just call up your dealership for an appointment. Get that taken care of quickly. Could be a symptom of something much more serious.

Power windows and door locks are a good thing......but I'd avoid them like the plague without a manual backup.
Gotta love when they don't work when you want to lock up or there's a rain storm coming!
Been there-Done that-Bought the bumper sticker....But sure the H not going back.
Especially in a vehicle with Chrysler backing.

I don't think of them as power windows. For me they are the increased legroom option. My friend's window cranks always seem to be in the wrong place.

My driver door did the same thing (2 door rubicon) on the way to work. got home that night and checked the door disconnects. they seemed tight but i took them apart and back together and everything works again. no probems since. i think i just caught the connection with my foot or something.

Please do post what happens with this. I looked at the wiring diagram and I do not think this is a more serious problem. Or at least not more serious like a Jeep that will quit from this problem. The TIPM (totally integrated power module) sends power through a a circuit breaker that supplies power to all the windows at once. Since one window always worked, you should not have a problem there. There is also only one ground for all four windows, so again this is likely not the problem. Very likely this is a problem with the switch or the connector at the switch. Those are the only parts common to both front windows that have separate parts for only the front windows. I suspect the circuit for the express down in the switch freaked out, which is why it went away after a restart. The express down stuff is handled in the switch. The TIPM shuts off power to the switch when the key is turned off and the doors are opened.

Now if all your windows quit at once I am more worried ...

Before I had the flash done, which was about 4 months ago. If I was rolling up both front windows at the same time and didn't release the switches once the windows were all the way up it would silence the radio for a brief moment. So with the windows already up I would hit both switches up at the same time again, and every time it would silence the radio. Not something I do ordinarily, just played with it out of curiosity. But like I said after the flash it doesn't do it any more.

I've had the same problem...but, I thought it was because the doors got soaked. Then it happened again when they were dry. My fix was to cycle the ignition then they worked.

It happened to us, exactly the same scenario. Both front windows would not go down, we stopped and shut it down, started it up again and everything worked fine. Haven't had the problem since. ??
