Default Problem at startup

I have an 08" Sahara the other day went to start it up turned the key and the starter cranked did it 3x's and finally it turned on so I thought it was time for a starter replacement. Went ahead and replaced the starter, the next day problem occured again had the battery, alternater and the stater checked but all seems to be running at 100%. So now I changed the starter for no reason and it seems that was not the problem. Any solutions would be appreciated.

A better explanation of what happens when you turn the key would help a lot.

I turn the key and all you hear is the starter crank that is it.

The starter spins without turning the engine over?

Hmm, that sounds like missing teeth on your flywheel. Next time it happens, try and rotate you engine some from the crank pulley and try it again.
